Top 100 Hospital
Mercy Medical Center – Dubuque has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals for 2008 by Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of health care. Mercy – Dubuque is one of only two hospitals in Iowa that has earned this award for 2008.
According to Thomson Reuters, the award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence across the whole organization: clinical outcomes, patient safety, adherence to national treatment standards, patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial stability. For the patient, this means the hospital is significantly more likely to provide dependable, high-quality care because doing the right thing at the right time matters to everyone in the hospital.

Magnet Re-Designation
Holding Magnet status since 2004, Mercy - Dubuque & Dyersville were recently re-designated as Magnet hospitals in 2009. Only 2% of the nation's hospitals have met the rigorous standards required to achieve re-designation. Mercy Medical Center was originally designated a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2004, becoming the 134th hospital in the nation to receive the honor.
