Programs

You will find that our services extend beyond healthcare, and outside our building walls. Upholding our mission and values, we continually reach out to support our community, including those less fortunate. The programs described below are just a sample of various ways Mercy demonstrates stewardship, excellence, compassion, respect, and concern for the poor.

Angel of Mercy Tree

An annual holiday event sponsored by Mercy, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, Borders Book Store , and Radio Dubuque - encouraging Christmas shoppers to purchase and donate items for area needy children.  We extend a big thank you to everyone who helped to make the 2009 Angel of Mercy Tree a great success.

Caring for the Community

An annual service project of Mercy Patient Care Services, where staff raise funds and gather various supplies through collections to assist a local community agency. During this year's (2009) project, numerous large boxes of non-perishable food, household cleaning products, and personal hygiene items were collected for the Dubuque and Dyersville food pantries.  In addition, a check was presented to the Dubuque Community Food Pantry for $1,618, and to the Dyersville Food Pantry for $280.   The Dubuque Food Pantry provides balanced nutrition to over 300 families monthly, and the Dyersville Food Pantry serves over 30 families monthly.

Hillcrest/Mercy Maternal Health Clinic

Having a baby can be expensive. Some expectant mothers are not covered by insurance, while others are without maternity benefits.
