Cardiac Services
The Cardiology Center is a tremendous asset to the community
and the only one of its kind in 70 miles of Dubuque.
The 10,000 square feet of totally new construction is
above the patient entrance and admitting department,
a location chosen for its proximity to the ER and Surgery
with direct access via a private patient elevator.
The center houses:
- 2 cardiac catheterization labs, which are also
used for vascular procedures
- 2 stress testing rooms
- A nuclear imaging lab
- An echocardiogram room
- A patient holding and recovery area
- A physician reading/viewing room
- Staff office and work room
- Reception and waiting room
- 2 family consultation rooms
- Provisional space for a future expansion of cardiology
services
Mercy provides a broad spectrum of cardiac services
including community education, screenings and exercise
programming; emergency care; non-invasive diagnostic
procedures; interventional treatment including angioplasty,
stent insertion and open heart surgery; cardiac rehabilitation
and support groups.
Medical Associates Clinic Foundation
pledged $1 million for the completion of the new cardiology
center. It is the largest charitable contribution in
the clinic’s history. In recognition of this unprecedented
gift, the center will be known as the Medical Associates
Community Cardiology Center.
