 Mercy's
Rehabilitation Unit has been a leader in comprehensive
rehabilitation for 20 years. They focus on helping clients
to regain physical function after a head injury, stroke
or medical trauma and to maximize rehabilitation potential.
Patients and their families participate in a team treatment
approach in which the patient is the center of care.
The unique treatment is individualized by the interdisciplinary
team and focuses on the individual goals.

Mercy's Rehab Unit has been CARF certified since 1990
and:
- Provides nurses with specialized training in the
care of rehabilitation.
- Provides occupational, physical, speech and recreational
therapy staff to assist patients recover the skills
they need to return to home and work.
- Provides an intensive rehabilitation program for
the medically stable patient who meets admission criteria.
- Sets goals and plans discharge based on weekly team
and family conferences.
- Offers a comprehensive program requiring greater
patient participation.
- Minimizes or prevents complications through early
therapeutic intervention.
- Provides access to support groups and links with
local, regional and national information for patient
and family members.
