you need a wheelchair, you don't realize how important
it is to be properly fitted. Some people spend a lot
of time sitting in one. Many people are active and able
to go out in wheelchairs and are included in most daily
activities.
Mercy Specialized Wheelchair Services has a representative
who visits Mercy-Dubuque twice a month. He is RESNA
(Rehabilitation Engineering Standards of North America)
certified to work with all types of mobility products
and all age groups.
- Fitting the wheelchair to the person. They are not
one-size-fits-all.
- Working with wheelchairs and gait-training devices.
- Training in communication devices and computers
for people who cannot speak.
Mercy Home Care has certified wheelchair technicians
available to repair both manual and power wheelchairs.
These technicians specialize in tailoring each chair
for fit and comfort.
